What is an English Muffin?
English Muffins are a new, wonderful breed we are developing here at Nevada Rain Cats along with My Devine Feline, in Utah, and a growing group of people across the US. English Muffins (EMs) are adorable their whole lives, sweet and loving, and great with kids. They are high percentage British Short- or Longhair and share their round, happy faces, and diverse array of colors and coat patterns. English Muffins can be long-haired or short-haired. They have amazingly soft fur too. Their sweet little faces appear to be smiling and have THE most beautiful eyes. Some even have odd and/or dominant blue eyes. This means they don’t have to be colorpoint to have blue eyes, they can be black, like our upcoming English Muffin King, Edmond. To top off all of this perfection and cuteness, standard English Muffins also have short legs.
With the exception of Minkie, our first young, glitter carrying, English Muffin queen, below, who is 50% British Shorthair, the queens on this page are in order from highest percentage British Shorthair, to lowest. Clementine, just under Minkie, is 75% British Shorthair and Livvy, at the bottom of this page, is 25% British Shorthair. Wink has also recently been added to this page and although she's 12.5% British Shorthair, her litters with Watson will be 56.25% British Shorthair. They have made BEAUTIFUL kittens in the past, so they've been mated again for an April of 2023 litter.
Please note that all of our cats are either genetically tested for all genetic disorders or their parents are. We are proud of this and pride ourselves on only raising kittens from the healthiest of parent cats and NONE of our kittens will be affected by any of the tested upon disorders.
Our queens are truly the most important cats we have. They are the main reason our kittens are so amazing. They are the only caretaker for the first weeks of their lives and our queens are so amazing. They are wonderful moms!! I LOVE watching our queens mother their babies. They are so sweet, so attentive, and just absolutely beautiful doing what is natural and perfect. They love their babies so much.

Sapphire is our first home-raised Dominant Blue Eyed English Muffin:
Sapphire is the little black and red tortoise shell who will keep those baby blue eyes. She is a standard/dwarf/shorty English Muffin that most definitely shows the Dominant Blue Eyed, DBE, gene. We knew this at birth because of her little white patch on her chin and the cutest little white whiskers. Genetically, she is solid colored but DBE cats always have a small amount of white on them. This little kitten is so special! She's just purrrrfect!! We are keeping her here at Nevada Rain. She has A/A blood type, is DBE, carries the dwarf gene, cinnamon, long hair, and has a wonderfully sweet and playful personality.
