We've got kittens available now!
Check them out on the Available Kittens page.
Nevada Rain Cats is a family run, cattery in Northern Nevada. We are located on a ranch northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada. We are working toward producing cats and kittens which we believe make the absolute BEST family pets, English Muffins. The English Muffin breed combines the cute little round smiling faces, gorgeous EYES, nobility and beauty of the British Shorthair, the energetic playfulness, excellent health, and eventually the glitter of the Genettas, with the lifelong cuteness of a munchkin. They are beyond compare in our book!! We are also hoping to add the absolute beauty and unique look of dominant blue eyes and odd eyes and a gorgeous shimmer in their coats glitter. We adore each and every cat we own and our kittens leave us with the best socialization on earth, the love and affection of my children and me.
Below, you can see Edmond's first kittens. Edmond is our Dominant Blue Eyed (DBE) Odd-Eyed king. These girls are both SO AMAZING!! Their mother, Poker Face, REALLY outdid herself. The tortoise shell female on the right is most likely staying here at Nevada Rain and will be our first NV Rain raised DBE queen. She is perfectly short, either shows or carries the DBE gene and can pass it one to her offspring (we know this because she has a little patch of white on her chin which is an indication that she is DBE because the blue eyes are paired with a white spotting gene), definitely has A/A blood type (which is perfect!), and should carry cinnamon.
Finnegan
Finn is the whole package of English Muffin! He is genetically silver shaded tabby, but that color is masked by the solid white gene. He is an odd eyed hunk of wonderful that opens up a whole new realm of possibilities here at Nevada Rain. Finn was raised here and should start fathering litters in early 2023. Here are "THEN and NOW" pictures of Finn. He was special, unique and PURRRfect from the start! On the left, Finn was around eight weeks old and on the right he is an adult. Isn't he handsome?! For more information, genetic testing results of his parents, as well as lots of pictures, visit the English Muffin Kings page.
Poppy, Finn's full sister, has a beautiful English Muffin litter available now on the Available Kittens page. She's pictured below on this page and also you can find more pictures, genetic testing results and information about Poppy on the English Muffin Queens page.

Paxton is the handsome little fellow below. He was born in the spring of 2022 and he stole my heart right off the bat. He's a 75% British Shorthair, English Muffin. He's on our English Muffin Kings page if you want to check him out. The pictures below were taken at about a week of age, left, about a month old, about two months old, and at 10 months of age, on the far right. Paxton's dad is Watson on the Purebred British Shorthair page and he is the father of most of our spring of 2023 litters.
2023 Breeding Plans
***It makes my heart happy to know that we are currently producing wonderful English Muffins, as we did throughout 2022. There are English Muffins across the USA making their families so very happy and THAT does my heart good. We'd like to continue raising English Muffins fathered by Watson and Hughie in 2023. They produced some beautiful kittens in 2022 in a wide variety of colors, wonderful personalities, and with those perfect round faces we adore. All of the kittens we produced in 2022 were short haired and are now living in their happy homes all across the country, from Boston to LA. We hope to continue producing kittens like those we produced in 2022 though 2023 as well.
***In 2023, we'd like to focus on bringing the glitter gene into our English Muffins. For a short explanation of what the glitter/shimmer gene is, check out our English Muffin Kings page and scroll down a bit. Sherbet is our glitter carrying red seal mink bicolor and we'd love to keep a couple of his daughters who carry glitter as well. We already have one glitter carrying female we plan to keep and that is Minkie (Sherbet X Mrozy mink torbie shorty female). In 2023 we've added a glitter carrying king, Dickens, from My Divine Feline in Utah, and it's possible that we could be producing Shimmering English Muffins (English Muffins that show glitter) in early 2024. If you've never seen a glittered cat, they shine in the light and their coat appears to have glitter on it. It's absolutely gorgeous. Google it!! We have Sherbet and Mrozy's daughter, Minkie, who carries glitter and is our first home-raised glitter carrying English Muffin.
***We have our first Dominant Blue Eyed (or odd eyed with one eye being blue) English Muffin litter now! It’s a small litter of two females, but both are short and both can have blue or odd eyes (one blue eye and one green or gold eye). Edmond is the father of this litter and Poker Face is the mother. So exciting!! Check both parents out on our English Muffin kings and queens pages. We may be keeping one or both of these girls at Nevada Rain.
We have kittens coming now, May of 2023, fathered by Edmond and we are hoping Finn becomes a daddy soon. Edmond can have dominant blue eyed (DBE) kittens in a variety of colors from cinnamon golden, chocolate, to nearly solid black (all DBE cats must have a small amount of white on their bodies in order to get the blue eyes or dominant blue odd eyes). Finn can have solid white kittens with blue, gold, green or odd eyes or he could have minks, smokes, or chocolates or chocolate smokes as well. They are both very unique and will father some amazing kittens.

Shimmery English Muffin Dreams:
Below, are Minkie, left, and Dickens, right, our first glitter carrying pair of English Muffins. Both of these beauties are 50% British Shorthair, standard (dwarf) English Muffins. Dickens came to us from My Divine Feline in Utah and Minkie was raised right here at Nevada Rain. We are REALLY hoping these two will be the beautiful parents of our first Shimmery English Muffins. Each of their kittens would have a 25% chance of showing glitter by getting the glitter gene from each parent. We plan to keep the first Shimmery English Muffins, so we can offer more shimmery kittens to you. It'll take us a little while to get our breeding program going, but rest assure that once we do, they will be amazing!!
If you'd like to know more about our Shimmery English Muffin breeding plans or you're not sure what the glitter gene is, please go to our English Muffin Kings page and read more about glitter there or just Google it. It's a gene most popular in the Bengal breed.

Genetic Testing Through Optimal Selection:
We are so proud to say that all of our English Muffin foundation breeding cats are genetically tested through Optimal Selection for around 50 genetic disorders, color, traits and blood type or cleared by parentage (both parents are tested and neither parent carries any of the tested upon disorders). If you are interested in one of our kittens, please don't be afraid to ask for these genetic results. I'd be proud to share them with you. They can also be found below each of our cats on our queens and kings pages, Purebred British Shorthair page, as well as our English Muffins Queens and Kings pages.
Lacey and her family, including three kids aged 11-17 years old, LOVE to raise kittens and find them amazing homes. Kittens are kept at NV Rain until they are 10+ weeks old, properly vaccinated, spayed/neutered or come with a spay/neuter contract (unless purchased as a breeder), and dewormed and socialized from an early age. Please check out our Available Kittens page to see what we have available now. Reserved kittens can be found on the Kittens Awaiting their New Homes page up until they leave Nevada Rain, by clicking on More... at the top of this page. Our English Muffins will be spayed and neutered before leaving, so please be prepared to wait until your kitten is around 11-14 weeks of age to get him/her.
If you have reserved one of our kittens and are preparing to add the kitten to your home soon, please click on the "Order Life's Abundance" button above and visit the Kittens Awaiting their New Homes page, and scroll to the bottom of the page to see tips for preparing for your new kitty.
